About the Role
The Temporary Accommodation Team Manager will lead the management of temporary accommodation across a diverse range of property types including hostels, shared family homes, and self-contained units. These properties are secured through spot-purchase arrangements with specialist providers, leased from private owners, and include the Council's own housing stock. The role involves ensuring all properties meet health and safety standards, that repair obligations are fulfilled, and that voids and income loss are minimised. You will manage contractors and maintain positive relationships with homeless households and housing providers. Additionally, you will oversee the emergency out-of-hours rota, which may require occasional availability for cover, with enhancements paid according to policy.

Experience
Proven experience in managing temporary accommodation or similar housing services, including oversight of diverse property types and contractor management. Knowledge of health and safety standards and housing repair obligations is essential. Experience working collaboratively with a range of service providers, advocates, and agencies is highly desirable.

You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex relationships with homeless households, housing providers, and contractors. You should be knowledgeable about the needs and services available to residents and able to work effectively in partnership with multiple stakeholders. Flexibility to participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota is required.
