About the Role
Are you ready to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable young people in Tower Hamlets? Join our Through Care Service and Housing Options Support Team (HOST) as a Through Care Housing Officer, supporting young individuals who have been in care. You will provide guidance and support in areas such as housing, education, employment, and life skills, working closely with social workers and personal advisors to develop personal housing plans tailored to each young person’s unique needs.
You will advocate for the rights and well-being of care leavers, undertake statutory casework under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018, and provide timely, proactive responses to prevent and end homelessness. The role requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions to reduce street homelessness.
Working within a dynamic, diverse community, you will collaborate with a team of professionals to create a supportive network that empowers young people to thrive. Experience
Proven experience working in a local authority homelessness service and/or voluntary homelessness sector. Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018. Experience supporting care leavers with housing-related issues and managing complex caseloads.
Understanding of statutory responsibilities of local authorities and issues affecting looked-after children and care leavers.

Qualifications
