About the Role
As the Tribunal, Mediation & Compliance Team Leader, you will lead all tribunal, mediation, and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to SEND legislation, statutory frameworks, and timescales. You will represent Camden in SEND tribunals and lead strategic planning to enhance services. This role involves managing complex cases with potential legal and reputational risks, providing strategic reports to inform leadership decisions. You will oversee all compliance matters including complaints, members’ enquiries, and pre-action protocols. Collaborating closely with schools and legal representatives, you will work to resolve cases and reduce the need for tribunal hearings. You will manage and support a team of up to four staff members, fostering capacity building and relational working. Additionally, you will deliver clear data analysis and strategic insights to influence continuous service improvement.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience managing and representing a local authority in tribunals or formal hearings.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and tribunal processes.
