
Location
London Borough of Merton - based at either Phipps Bridge Youth Centre or Pollards Hill Youth Centre.
Hours
28 hours per week, including regular evening work, occasional weekends, and school holiday programmes.
Salary
£35,520 - £37,134 per annum pro rata
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential? We are seeking two enthusiastic Youth and Play Leads to join our Youth Service team. In this role, you will lead and develop engaging junior and senior youth sessions, build positive relationships with children and young people, and help create safe, inclusive environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive. You will also support outreach activities, projects, and holiday programmes while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and health and safety. This is a permanent position requiring a proactive, young person-focused approach to make a positive difference in the lives of young people in Merton.
Experience
Experience of working with children and/or young people is essential. Proven ability to deliver high-quality youth and play work is highly desirable.

You should have strong communication skills, be committed to creating safe and inclusive environments, and demonstrate flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and school holidays as required. A proactive and young person-focused attitude is key to success in this role.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in youth work, play work, or related fields are advantageous but not explicitly stated as mandatory.
