At Adoption London South Regional Adoption Agency (ALS), we are seeking a permanent, highly skilled, driven, and experienced Adoption Team Manager to shape service delivery, implement improvements aligned with the modernisation of adoption, and inspire and lead the team to provide quality, timely support to those affected by adoption.

ALS is committed to reducing race disparity throughout the adoption journey. This role offers opportunities to collaborate and develop practice across the four Adopt London RAAs for the benefit of all London children and others affected by adoption.

The post holder will provide inspirational leadership and effective management to promote the best outcomes for everyone affected by adoption in line with regulations. You will cultivate and sustain excellent working relationships and enthusiastically engage in partnership working across 10 different South London Local Authorities. You will work across ALS to ensure the best use of resources in line with agency objectives, with a strong focus on services that meet the needs of the adoption community, particularly reducing race disparity.

You will have knowledge of childcare and adoption legislation, statutory guidance, and the London Child Protection Procedures. Strong skills in presenting complex information both in writing and in person, confident analysis and decision making, good data presentation and analysis skills to inform and shape service delivery, and experience with case management systems ensuring robust management oversight to drive performance are essential.

This role requires flexibility to meet service needs, including availability for evenings and weekends. You will be committed to team and personal development, creating a high challenge, high support environment that drives growth in Adoption Support services.

Requirements

Experience
Applicants must be experienced qualified Social Workers with a strong understanding of Adoption Support, including the regulatory context and partnership working across multiple Local Authorities. Experience in leadership and management within adoption services is essential.

Proven ability to provide high challenge/high support environments and contribute to ongoing service development and improvement is required.

About You
You demonstrate strong attention to detail and provide constructive feedback to build effective partnerships and influence best practice. You have a solid understanding of developments in the adoption landscape and key strategic priorities to improve services for all affected by adoption.

You are committed to anti-oppressive and anti-racist practice and have enthusiasm for partnership working across diverse teams and agencies. You are flexible, motivated, and able to work collaboratively across multiple Local Authorities and adoption agencies.

Qualifications
Qualified Social Worker status is required. Knowledge of childcare and adoption legislation, statutory guidance, and London Child Protection Procedures is essential.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
