About the Role
This position is based within the Kingston Council Adult Social Care Finance Hub, a shared service with the Royal Borough of Kingston. The role focuses on maximizing income collection for Adult Social Care services through effective debt management and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for the end-to-end billing and recovery of social care charges, ensuring all activities comply with legislative standards and Council policies. Working collaboratively across the ASC Finance Hub, you will contribute to the team’s success by managing high volumes of internal and external inquiries, resolving invoice disputes, reducing aged debt, and liaising with Legal and Social Care teams to handle complex cases. The role also involves facilitating debt review meetings with senior leadership and producing accurate formal correspondence regarding account adjustments and enforcement actions.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in Credit Control or Adult Social Services is desirable but not essential. Proven ability to manage high volumes of inquiries and debt recovery processes effectively is important.

About you
You are a confident communicator, comfortable handling sensitive conversations about money with tact and empathy. You are tech-savvy and able to multitask using various IT systems efficiently. You have strong numeracy skills and a good head for financial records. You demonstrate resilience and professionalism in stressful situations while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude. A deep consideration for the needs of vulnerable adults is essential.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but a commitment to learning and personal development is expected. Familiarity with relevant legislation and Council policies related to Adult Social Care finance is advantageous.
