About the Service and Team
This role is for a social work qualified Youth Justice Operations Manager on an initial 1-year fixed term contract. You will work within a vibrant, multi-agency team based in Carshalton, line managing case managers responsible for pre and post court work. The service works alongside the Adolescent team, schools team, and community safety, adopting a child-first and trauma-informed approach to improve outcomes for children and communities.

About the Service and Team (continued)
The team includes pre and post court case managers supported by specialist workers such as CAMHS, Education Lead, Speech and Language Therapist, School Nurse, and Substance Misuse Worker, providing wrap-around support. Staff benefit from an embedded holistic training programme and regular personal and group supervision to address the complexities of the roles. The team is innovative, passionate, and dedicated, operating from a youth work building with facilities for creative sessions and a welcoming environment for children.

About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate
- Line manage staff within the Youth Justice team
- Liaise with courts, police, and other professionals regarding suitable orders and programmes for children, with strong knowledge of pre and post court options
- Quality assure assessments and intervention plans ensuring they are child-first, victim-focused, and outcome-driven
- Chair risk panels and other relevant meetings for children
- Coordinate specialist workers to support case managers, including victim and reparation work

Requirements

Experience
Qualified social worker with experience in Youth Justice settings. Line management experience within Youth Justice is preferred, though experience managing staff in other settings will be considered. Strong knowledge of pre and post court processes and options.

Qualifications
Social work qualification required. Additional relevant qualifications or training in Youth Justice or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory.
