About the Role
Sutton College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Adult Social Care Tutor to deliver the Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 1 Award (NCFE) as an online course via Google Classroom, alongside potential classroom-based qualifications including Falls Prevention Awareness Level 2 Certificate (NCFE); Awareness of Dementia Level 3 Award (NCFE); Principles of End of Life Care Level 3 Certificate (NCFE); and Understanding Mental Health Level 3 Certificate (NCFE). You will support learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the adult social care sector, helping them explore roles within this field.

You will ensure a safe and organised learning environment adhering to all safety guidelines, create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes skills development and confidence, engage learners using a variety of teaching and learning strategies, adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learners, and assess learner progress providing constructive feedback to support their development.

The role involves ensuring high-quality delivery through quality assurance processes, contributing to curriculum development, personalised employment support, and learner progression. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Curriculum & Quality to deliver a high-quality programme aligned with learner and employer needs, supporting the college’s strategic goals and targeting priority groups under the Adult Skills Fund.

We are looking for tutors who can support learners to achieve their personal and academic goals, gain qualifications and life skills, and prepare for their next steps in learning or work. A passion for teaching, strong subject and industry knowledge, and a commitment to enhancing learners’ opportunities are essential.

Experience
- Teaching in Adult Education or Further Education Post-16 college/training environment
- Experience teaching a range of levels within the subject area
- Experience with quality improvement processes that support and develop teaching practice

Qualifications
- Appropriate teaching qualification for the Post-16 sector (e.g. DET, Cert. Ed. or equivalent)
- Qualification in the subject specialism to at least Level 4 (e.g. HND, First Degree)
- Minimum of 3 years’ substantial experience in the subject area
- Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English and Mathematics
