About the Role
Sutton College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Early Years Educator Tutor to deliver the Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Workforce – Early Years Educator Level 3 Diploma (NCFE CACHE). You will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to prepare them to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years. Upon achievement of this qualification, learners will be able to enter the workforce as early years educators and be included in staff to child ratios.

You will ensure a safe and organised learning environment adhering to all safety guidelines, create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes skills development and confidence, engage learners using a range of teaching and learning strategies, adapt teaching methods to suit a diverse range of learners, and assess learner progress providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.

The post holder will teach onsite at the college, ensuring high-quality delivery through quality assurance processes and contributing to the college’s growth by supporting a vibrant curriculum aimed at excellent learner outcomes. The role also involves assisting with focused curriculum development, personalised employment support, and learner progression. You will help meet the college’s strategic goals, especially targeting priority groups under the Adult Skills Fund, and collaborate with the Head of Curriculum & Quality to deliver a high-quality programme aligned with learner and employer needs.

We are particularly interested in tutors who can support learners to achieve their personal and academic goals, gain the qualification and life skills within and outside the classroom, and prepare for their next steps in learning or work. A passion for teaching, strong subject and industry knowledge, and a desire to develop and enhance learners’ opportunities are essential.

Requirements

Experience
- Teaching in Adult Education or Further Education Post 16 college/training environment
- Experience of teaching a range of levels in the subject area
- Experience of quality improvement processes which support and develop practice

Qualifications
- An appropriate teaching qualification for the Post 16 Sector (e.g. DET / Cert. Ed. or equivalent)
- A qualification in the subject specialism to at least Level 4 (e.g. HND, 1st Degree)
- Minimum of 3 years’ substantial experience in the subject area
- Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English and Mathematics
- A1/TAQA Assessor Award (desirable)
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification e.g., Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (desirable)
