About the Role
At Balfour Beatty, we are delivering some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects. As part of the HS2 programme, Old Oak Common Station will become one of the country's largest and most important transport hubs. We are seeking an Approved Electrician to join our team and support the delivery of the Temporary Site Services (TSS) package on this landmark project. You will play a key role in ensuring temporary electrical installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working closely with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will support project delivery while maintaining our commitment to Zero Harm.

Key responsibilities include:
Installing, inspecting and maintaining temporary electrical systems on site
Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of temporary site services
Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate controls
Ensuring plant, tools and equipment are safe and fit for use
Contributing to toolbox talks, task briefings and safety initiatives
Monitoring workmanship and supporting a Right First Time culture
Assisting with quality assurance activities and project documentation
Coordinating with operational and engineering teams to meet programme requirements
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with project standards
Promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible working practices

Experience
Fully qualified Electrician with current ECS Card
Experience working with temporary electrical installations
Experience supervising or coordinating direct labour and subcontractors
Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects (desirable)
Experience delivering high-quality electrical installations in complex environments (desirable)
Experience managing works packages from start to completion (desirable)

About you
Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
Flexible approach to working hours including nights and weekends when required
Ability to deliver engaging toolbox talks and promote safe systems of work
Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills (desirable)
Desire to progress towards becoming an Appointed Person (AP) (desirable)
Full UK driving licence
