About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated educator looking to make a real impact on young minds? We are seeking a motivated and inspiring Assistant Head Teacher to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people. The role will commence in January 2026.

You will teach an agreed number of lessons and undertake all relevant duties of a class teacher while acting in that capacity. You will take a leading role in the day-to-day management of the school, implementing, enforcing, and exhibiting model adherence to all school policies and procedures. You will attend and contribute to all meetings of the staff cohort and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), as well as plan and chair meetings where necessary.

About Kedleston Group and Mapesbury School
Mapesbury School is our new Special Educational Needs school in Cricklewood, Brent. It supports children aged 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in mainstream or specialist settings and benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach. Pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and may display traits of Autism and associated conditions.

Mapesbury School is part of Kedleston Group, specialists in providing education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Requirements

Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- At least one year of proven successful leadership and management experience in a school
- Experience of analysing data and using it to inform future practice
- Line management experience
- Experience of leading whole-school initiatives and raising standards that have positively impacted pupils and teaching and learning
- Experience working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal, but applications from those working in mainstream settings are also welcome

Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. A relevant leadership qualification is desirable.
