About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated educator looking to make a real impact on young minds? We are seeking a motivated and inspiring English Teacher to join our dynamic team at Mapesbury School, a Special Educational Needs school in Cricklewood, Brent. This role will commence in January 2026.

You will plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people. You will foster a positive learning environment that supports their educational and personal growth. Assessing and monitoring student progress, you will provide constructive feedback and support.

Collaboration is key, so you will work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success. You will also participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities.

Mapesbury School supports children aged 7 to 16 with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in mainstream or specialist settings and benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach. Pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and may display traits of Autism and associated conditions.

Mapesbury School is part of Kedleston Group, specialists in providing education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in teaching English as a specialism
- Experience working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome

- Enthusiastic and dedicated educator
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods

Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- A qualification in SEND education is desirable
