About the Role
Are you looking for your next role? We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Pastoral Support Assistant to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people. You will support year groups to provide effective care, monitoring, and guidance to ensure positive student wellbeing contributes to excellent student progress. Your responsibilities will include identifying students at risk of underachieving through data analysis (including attendance) and devising bespoke strategies and interventions to overcome barriers to learning. You will arrange meetings with parents, staff, students, and outside agencies as necessary to discuss underachievement or any pastoral issues impacting learning. Additionally, you will mentor students individually or in groups, liaising with form tutors, subject teachers, and senior leadership as needed. You will provide regular mentoring to Children Looked After (CLA), liaise with the Designated Teacher to prepare for Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, review targets, and attend these meetings.

About Kedleston Group and Mapesbury School
Mapesbury School, part of Kedleston Group, is a Special Educational Needs school located in Cricklewood, Brent. The school supports children aged 7 to 16 with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in mainstream or specialist settings and benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach. Pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and may display traits of Autism and associated conditions. Kedleston Group specialises in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Requirements

Experience
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Experience of a range of behaviour management strategies and dealing with challenging behaviour or other specific SEN

- Ability to respond flexibly as needs arise
- Confidence working with individuals, groups, and whole classes if required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
