About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust includes five major hospitals and community services, renowned for clinical excellence, research, and innovation. As part of King’s Health Partners, it is a leading academic health sciences centre with world-class clinical services and research facilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Royal Brompton and Harefield (RBH) Heart department for a dedicated and proactive Assistant Service Manager to support the Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension services. This role requires a strong leader who will act as the key liaison between administrative teams and clinical staff, ensuring excellent operational performance and fostering a positive, supportive culture.

The post holder will manage two busy services, requiring high levels of attention, prioritisation, and autonomous working. Responsibilities include supporting Clinical Leads and Service Managers in managing service sections, driving operating targets, budget controls, HR management, and ensuring effective processes to monitor performance. The role also involves problem solving daily management issues, managing data analysis for clinical teams, organising administrative staff, exercising delegated authority, and responding to patient concerns.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ is committed to providing high quality, safe, and efficient care with a motivated and engaged workforce. The Trust supports flexible working arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance and values diversity and inclusion in its workforce.
