An exciting internal secondment opportunity has arisen within the Planning and Performance team, part of the Chief Operating Officer’s directorate. This senior role will lead the Trust’s business planning process and contribute to delivering strategic and operational priorities. You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and corporate colleagues to develop and embed systems and processes that support effective business planning and performance management.
The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational and facilitation skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders. This is a high-profile position offering the chance to influence the delivery of efficient services and high-quality patient care within a dynamic NHS environment.

Experience
- Significant experience working within the NHS, including clinical operational service management.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations.
- Competence in negotiation skills.
- Experience analysing and interpreting complex data and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Track record of managing successful projects and operational performance improvements, including business case preparation, service commissioning, contract negotiation, and monitoring outcomes.
- Experience managing complex services and change in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and delegate effectively.
- Experience managing complex budgets and demonstrating individual, team, financial, process, and change management.

Qualifications
- Educated to master’s level or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
- Desirable: Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent).
Skills / Knowledge / Ability
- Knowledge of operations and project management methodologies and techniques.
- Proven track record of successful change and project management.
- Advanced analytical and judgement skills, including understanding complex statistical and numerical data.
- Ability to work flexibly, prioritise workloads, and resource effectively.
- IT literate with competency in MS Office, especially Excel and MS Project.
