About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Simulation Faculty Development and Education Lead to join our Medical Education Department. This pivotal role involves managing, planning, and delivering educational and training programmes for simulation faculty development aimed at multi-professional staff. The successful candidate will lead on simulation faculty development matters, setting standards for practice and developing innovative training programmes to support staff across various clinical environments, with a strong emphasis on improving patient safety.
The role includes managing the planning, organisation, delivery, and assessment of simulation faculty development programmes, developing creative and innovative training materials, contributing to strategic planning and policy development for simulation education, and delivering formal lectures on topics such as human factors and high-fidelity simulation. You will also establish policies regarding equality, diversity, and inclusion in simulation education, ensuring all initiatives enhance patient safety across training activities.

Experience
- Extensive postgraduate experience in simulation at masters level or equivalent
- Extensive clinical experience in a patient-facing hospital role
- Evidence of leading education and development of teaching programmes in simulation
- Experience in operational service management and team leadership or supervisory roles including HR and recruitment involvement
- Exemplary clinical, theoretical and professional knowledge with effective teaching skills
About you
- Awareness of quality and service requirements within a medical education department
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet short deadlines
- Good working knowledge of IT, PC equipment and e-learning platforms
- Ability to undertake safe manual handling procedures
- High level of work organisation, self-motivation, drive for improvement and flexibility in approach
- Willingness and ability to work across King’s Health Partners’ sites and attend off-site training sessions
Qualifications
- Essential: Relevant BSc (Hons) or equivalent, Relevant DipHE/Diploma, State registration as a Clinical Professional
- Desirable: Masters or equivalent level of knowledge and experience to act as an expert in simulation-related delivery
