The Adult and International Private Patients Team is seeking a Deputy Service Manager to support the Service Manager in delivering high quality, compassionate care to international and private adult patients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the largest and most successful private patient teams in the NHS, working closely with clinical services across Guy’s & St Thomas’, Evelina Women’s services, and Royal Brompton & Harefield private services.
The post-holder will assist with day-to-day management of diverse private patient services, lead operational delivery of new services, and collaborate with operational and business development teams to implement a robust, high quality operational model aligned with ambitious business plans. The role includes line management of administration staff responsible for patient treatment pathways, ensuring effective scheduling, reporting on key performance metrics, and delivering outstanding customer service to patients, families, and consultants.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and ambitious individual who understands the demands of private patient services and is eager to grow and improve the services they manage while working closely with clinical teams.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience conducting Personal Development Reviews (PDRs)
- Evidence of supporting successful project and/or operational performance and improvement, including development and monitoring of output and outcome measures
Desirable Experience
- Experience contributing to staff performance and development
- Private healthcare experience and/or experience of private services within the NHS
Skills
- Strong analytical and judgement skills, including understanding and application of complex statistical and numerical data
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and delegate effectively
Desirable Skills
- Experience in service planning and coordination to support safe and effective patient care
Knowledge
- Confident user of IT systems, including patient administration systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to adapt quickly to new digital systems and processes
Desirable Knowledge
- Effective communication skills with patients, staff, and senior stakeholders
