About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to Europe’s largest dental school, a £160 million Cancer Centre, and Evelina London Children’s Hospital, among other specialist services. In 2021, the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined the Trust, creating a world-renowned heart and lung centre. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence, high quality teaching and research, and delivering outstanding patient care.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant Director of Health Informatics to lead Business Intelligence capability across the Trust. You will provide strategic direction, expert analytical leadership and data-driven insight to support clinical, operational and financial decision-making. As a senior specialist, you will act as the Trust’s data lead for major programmes locally and across partner organisations, ensuring information systems, data quality and reporting functions meet the highest standards.

You will lead the Information Delivery and Planned Care Analytics functions, providing professional leadership to Clinical Group BI teams and corporate BI leads. Key responsibilities include developing high-quality reporting, dashboards and modelling; ensuring compliance with national performance standards; and supporting strategic planning and forecasting.

Our Health Informatics department is a core part of the Trust’s Data Hub, working closely with Clinical Analytics, Clinical Coding and BI teams across Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital as part of a shared EHR data architecture. We are a values-driven organisation—Caring, Ambitious and Inclusive—and foster a supportive environment where collaboration, innovation and professional development are central. Flexible working arrangements are supported where possible.
