About the Role

The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, high quality teaching, and world-leading research, including specialist cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory, and cardiovascular services. The Cancer Data Team’s 2 Week Wait (2WW) team supports multi-disciplinary teams focusing on patients on suspected cancer pathways. This role involves booking appointments, supporting the administrative functions of MDTs, and proactively tracking patients, liaising with colleagues across the Trust and external agencies. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, compassionate environment making a real difference to patients with suspected cancer.
The role requires flexibility to work across both acute hospital sites and specialty boundaries, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the Cancer Data Team. You will be the first point of contact for patients referred on a suspected cancer priority and will manage the 2WW referrals waiting list, ensuring timely and accurate processing of referrals in line with Trust and national targets.
Experience
- Previous experience delivering high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume customer care environment
- Proven ability to handle difficult customers and challenging situations
- Experience working both autonomously and as part of a team
- Desirable: experience in an administrative role within the NHS and/or cancer services environment

Qualifications
- Essential: General education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
- Desirable: Customer service qualification or training
- Basic understanding of cancer waiting time standards and patient cancer pathways is desirable
