An exciting opportunity has arisen to cover the role of Service Manager for the Children's Community Directorate within the Evelina London Clinical Group. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative manager with a strong operational background who is passionate about improving healthcare services.
In this role, you will influence and drive patient experience, safety, performance and staff wellbeing, supporting ongoing transformation work while providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against performance goals. You will work closely with service leads, clinicians, managers and other staff across the Trust to deliver high standards of care and quality, patient-centred services with a focus on continuous improvement.
The Service Manager is accountable to the Deputy General Manager and Clinical Leads and is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of clinical services in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints. You will work closely with the Directorate Management Team to ensure high quality care and lead service improvements.

Main Duties
- Exercise delegated authority to resolve day-to-day performance issues and create resolution plans
- Monitor and track performance against the Performance Contract
- Manage data analysis to provide timely and accurate KPI information
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies and maintain appropriate staffing levels and skill mix
- Manage operational service delivery efficiently, liaising with clinical and multi-disciplinary staff
- Respond promptly to issues and implement long-term solutions
- Support Clinical Leads and Matrons to ensure effective support services
- Manage facilities and resources to meet service needs
- Support annual Business Plan development and staff involvement
- Participate in Trust-wide initiatives and projects
- Develop policies and standardised procedures
- Maintain service delivery during staff absences
- Ensure adherence to legislation regarding patient material and records
- Prepare presentations and liaise with other departments to support smooth service functioning
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development
Experience
Proven experience managing successful projects and/or operational performance and improvement, including development and monitoring of output and outcome measures
Operational experience managing specific services, including design, development, implementation and change management in a multi-professional environment
Experience managing complex budgets from multiple income sources
Demonstrable evidence of individual, team, financial, process and change management
Desirable Experience
Knowledge and understanding of the changing NHS environment
Understanding of lean methodology
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of operations and/or project management methodologies and techniques
Knowledge of contract management
Track record of successful change and project management
Effective people and project management skills
Strong analytical and judgement skills, including application of complex statistical and numerical data
