£55,270 - £66,000 per annum, dependant on experience. Plus essential car user allowance of £1,300 per annum

About the Role
Join L&Q’s Operational Building Safety Team within the Property and Investment Directorate as a Building Safety Manager. You will collaborate closely with Lead Building Safety Managers, the Head of Service, Director of Building Compliance, and the Strategic Building Safety Team. You will also line manage a small team of Assistant Building Safety Managers.

Your key responsibility will be to monitor and manage building safety for your allocated buildings, ensuring they are safe to occupy in compliance with the Building Safety Act. This includes assisting in producing Building Safety Case Reports for submission to obtain Building Assessment Certificates, maintaining building safety through reviewing maintenance, testing activities, risk assessments, fire safety arrangements, and structural matters.

The role involves procurement of specialist services and managing key building safety data, ensuring compliance with L&Q’s procurement processes and standing order rules. You will need a strong working knowledge of L&Q’s Housing Management, Financial, Compliance Management, and record-keeping systems.

Expert knowledge of operational building safety is essential, including active fire systems and other building-specific M&E systems. You will be a first-class communicator, experienced in working with diverse stakeholders such as residents, resident groups, Corporate Health and Safety, Housing Management teams, and Property Services teams.

Requirements

Experience
- Practical experience of operational building safety including knowledge of active fire, M&E, and specialist safety installations and systems.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve collaborative and agreed outcomes.
- Highly computer literate with the ability to input and retrieve data from various computer management systems.

About you
- Strong communication skills and experience working with residents, resident groups, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage a small team and work collaboratively within a wider building safety and compliance framework.
- Full driving licence and daily access to a vehicle as the role requires mobility to various sites.

Qualifications
- Either hold or be working towards a minimum of Level 4 qualification in Building Safety (this must be stated on the application).
