About the Role
The Psychology Services Group is recruiting a Band 3 Business Administrator to join the expanding National Security Division (NSD) Psychology team within the Directorate of Security (DoS). The NSD, part of the National Probation Service, provides enhanced management and intervention for the most high-risk, complex, and high-profile offenders in the community. The NSD operates across five geographical units: Wales/South West, Midlands, North, London/Kent, Surrey & Sussex, and East/South Central. Each unit currently has a Senior Psychologist, and the team is expanding to provide further national coverage, particularly in the busiest areas, requiring business support to assist this important work.
The role involves organising, producing, and maintaining accurate records for the area of work. The post-holder must be IT proficient with advanced skills in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel. They will develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and attend key meetings across the country. Acting as the contact point for all communications to the team, the post-holder will prioritise and distribute communications to the appropriate person or department and interact with staff in other establishments to exchange information.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage workload amidst competing demands are essential. Due to the sensitive nature of the role and information accessed, SC level security vetting is required.
Experience
Experience in business administration or a similar support role is desirable. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records is essential. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required.

Strong communication skills are necessary to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You must be trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexibility to attend meetings across the country is required.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to obtain and maintain SC level security clearance.
Qualifications
There are no formal qualification requirements specified; however, relevant administrative qualifications or experience will be advantageous.
