About the Role
The UK Field Epidemiology Training Programme (UKFETP) is a two-year specialist postgraduate training programme aimed at professionals interested in applied epidemiology. The UKFETP Office, based at UKHSA Colindale, manages the development and delivery of this programme. The Business Support Officer will provide day-to-day administrative and dedicated PA support to the senior management team, maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Working with minimal supervision, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering a wide range of administrative duties, often supporting colleagues across multiple sites or working remotely.
The role includes comprehensive PA support such as diary management, complex travel bookings, preliminary drafting of correspondence and presentations, and basic research. Administrative responsibilities include coordinating business administration activities, managing health and safety risk assessments, sickness absence reporting, organising meetings and events including training workshops, producing reports and minutes, and supporting the development of efficient systems and procedures.
Additional duties involve project support, financial and resource management including budget support and order placement, and providing cover for team members as required. You will also participate in internal working groups and contribute to effective information management and reporting.
The role requires flexibility, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be a visible and positive role model within the team, supporting others and contributing to a culture of inclusion and diversity.
