Location
London Borough of Lewisham - working at and from a variety of locations across the borough.
Hours
There may be opportunities to work at weekends on a rota basis.
Salary
£31,086 - £31,980 per annum (Scale 3). All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role unless matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) with evidential proof.
About the Role
We are looking for someone who can provide high quality, customer focused and responsive service to Lewisham residents. Caretakers are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the shared areas of the buildings managed by the council, ensuring residents live in a safe, clean and tidy environment. Responsibilities include sweeping and cleaning all internal and external communal areas on a scheduled and reactive basis using appropriate equipment, chemicals and materials; removing fly-tipping, bulky items and lumber from communal areas and dwellings, including loading vehicles and driving to disposal sites if appropriate; carrying out systematic checks and reporting or sorting problems such as chutes, litter bins, communal lighting, fire safety hazards and communal repairs; requesting and monitoring repairs to communal areas; identifying and reporting welfare or safeguarding concerns about vulnerable residents; and identifying and reporting nuisance, anti-social or criminal behaviour, providing evidence and witness statements to support enforcement action.

Experience

Qualifications
A clean, full manual UK/EU driving licence with Category B is required. The role is subject to a basic DBS check.
