About the Role
LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is a diversified global financial markets infrastructure and data business dedicated to delivering excellence and trusted services worldwide. As part of the Group Procurement function, this role supports the Cloud Category team within the Technology spend tower, managing strategic sourcing and supplier relationships with a focus on Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). You will work globally across teams in London, Bangalore, New York, Tokyo and Beijing, partnering with Technology Leaders, Finance, Legal, FinOps and Vendor Management to deliver commercial value, innovation, and risk mitigation. This role blends strategic planning, supplier performance management, and hands-on sourcing, contributing to LSEG’s transformation roadmap and procurement excellence.

This position is highly visible and responsible for shaping sourcing strategies, leading complex commercial negotiations, and managing a significant portfolio of strategic suppliers and technologies underpinning critical business services. You will collaborate closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Database Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Finance, Legal and Vendor Management teams to drive commercial value, innovation, resilience, and long-term technology outcomes. This is an opportunity to influence major engineering investment decisions, engage with leading software vendors, and support LSEG's ongoing technology transformation.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies across database, middleware and other enterprise software aligned with technology roadmaps and business priorities.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and commercial discussions with global technology vendors.
- Manage supplier relationships, governance reviews, performance management and value realisation.
- Identify and mitigate commercial, operational and licensing risks.
- Support procurement governance, savings tracking and contract lifecycle management.
- Drive procurement transformation initiatives and promote best sourcing and supplier management practices.

Experience
- Significant experience in Technology Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, ideally covering infrastructure software, databases, middleware or enterprise platforms.
- Proven track record negotiating complex software agreements, renewals and licensing arrangements with global technology suppliers.
- Strong understanding of software commercial models including subscription, SaaS, perpetual, consumption-based and enterprise licensing.
- Experience engaging senior engineering and business leaders in large, complex or regulated organisations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and project management skills.

Qualifications
- MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification is desirable.
- Experience working with suppliers such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, TIBCO or similar enterprise software vendors is advantageous.
- Knowledge of software asset management, licence optimisation and vendor audit management is a plus.
- Background in Financial Services, FinTech or other global enterprise organisations is preferred.
