This role sits within LSEG’s Group Procurement function, supporting the Cloud Category team within the Technology spend tower. As Category Manager Infrastructure, you will manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships across a significant annual spend, focusing on Cloud Service Providers and enterprise infrastructure software including database and middleware solutions. You will work globally with teams in London, Bangalore, New York, Tokyo and Beijing, partnering with Technology Leaders, Finance, Legal, FinOps and Vendor Management to deliver commercial value, innovation, and risk mitigation.

This high-impact role blends strategic planning, supplier performance management, and hands-on sourcing, contributing to LSEG’s transformation roadmap and procurement excellence. You will shape sourcing strategies, lead complex negotiations, and manage a portfolio of strategic suppliers that underpin critical business services. Working closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Database Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Finance, Legal and Vendor Management teams, you will influence major engineering investment decisions and support LSEG's ongoing technology transformation.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing category strategies aligned with technology roadmaps, leading sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations, managing supplier relationships and governance, and driving continuous improvement and procurement transformation initiatives. This role requires a commercially astute procurement professional with strong technology knowledge, strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills.

Requirements

Experience
Significant experience in Technology Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, ideally covering infrastructure software, databases, middleware or enterprise platforms. Proven track record of negotiating complex software agreements, renewals and licensing arrangements with global technology suppliers. Strong understanding of software commercial models including subscription, SaaS, perpetual, consumption-based and enterprise licensing structures. Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.

About you
Commercially astute with strong technology knowledge and strategic thinking. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior engineering and business leaders. Strong analytical, negotiation and project management capabilities. Ability to translate technical requirements into effective commercial strategies and recommendations.

Qualifications
MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification is desirable. Experience working with suppliers such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, TIBCO or similar enterprise software vendors is advantageous. Knowledge of software asset management, licence optimisation and vendor audit management. Experience managing contracts and suppliers within hybrid infrastructure environments. Background in Financial Services, FinTech or other global enterprise organisations is a plus.
