About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for a Civil Litigation Lawyer with experience in housing law and debt recovery to join the Council on a fixed term basis of up to 2 years. You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Litigation within the Legal Department and work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments. Your role will be to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service, offering expert advice and guidance on civil litigation matters. You will have conduct of civil cases in the County Court, High Court, and Magistrates Court, managing a complex and varied caseload. Responsibilities include providing expertise on litigation, advising on evidence and procedure, and conducting trials as required.
Experience
Proven experience in civil law and procedure, preferably within a local government context. Experience in housing law and debt recovery is essential. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex caseload and conduct civil litigation in various courts.

Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or equivalent legal qualification. Proof of right to work in the UK is required for shortlisted candidates.
