We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Leisure and Culture Development Officer to develop and deliver inclusive leisure, cultural and community programmes that improve wellbeing, increase participation and strengthen community connections across the borough. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, community organisations, schools, arts groups, providers and a wide range of external partners to create opportunities that meet local needs, engage diverse audiences and contribute to thriving and vibrant communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping residents access activities that enrich lives, promote health and encourage social inclusion. You will support the Community and Partnerships Manager in developing collaborative delivery models, fostering strong partnerships and advancing place-based approaches to service delivery. Your role will include coordinating projects, programmes and initiatives aligned with the Council’s priorities around health, inclusion, participation and economic growth, while identifying opportunities to expand engagement and improve outcomes for residents.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a passion for community development and a proactive approach to building relationships and delivering meaningful initiatives that create lasting benefits for local people.
Experience
Experience in community development, leisure or cultural programme delivery is desirable. Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and stakeholders to develop and implement inclusive community initiatives.

You are enthusiastic, community-focused and proactive with excellent communication and organisational skills. You have a passion for promoting wellbeing, social inclusion and participation. You are able to build strong relationships and work effectively with internal teams, community organisations and external partners to deliver impactful programmes.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in community development, leisure, culture or a related field are desirable but not essential. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning is important.
