About the Role
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough committed to transforming its communities and Council through innovative approaches and strong local engagement. As one of the fastest growing and third most diverse London boroughs, Redbridge offers excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open spaces and rapid transport connections into central London.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Contracts Monitoring Officer to lead the effective management of leisure and culture contracts across the borough. You will be responsible for day-to-day contract monitoring, compliance assurance and performance tracking to ensure providers deliver safe, high-quality, resident-focused services.
This role covers a wide range of facilities and programmes including leisure centres, parks, play areas, outdoor gyms, open spaces, museums, libraries, sports development initiatives and cultural activities. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will support the Council’s client-side contract management function by ensuring contractual obligations are met, conducting performance reviews, analysing service data and providing accurate insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
You will build effective relationships with providers and stakeholders, identify opportunities for service enhancement and help drive innovation, value for money and operational excellence across a complex range of delivery models. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to services that have a direct and positive impact on local communities and support the Council’s ambitions for leisure, culture and community wellbeing.
Experience
Proven experience in contract monitoring or compliance, preferably within leisure, culture or public sector services. Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders effectively.
About you
Proactive and detail-oriented with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Committed to delivering high-quality services that meet community needs and support organisational goals. Able to work collaboratively across teams and with external providers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in contract management, compliance, or related fields are desirable. A commitment to ongoing professional development and understanding of public sector service delivery is important.
