About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for a Social Care Lawyer to join the Council and provide a comprehensive and professional legal service. Reporting to the Principal Lawyer – Social Care within the Legal Department, you will work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments. You will provide expert advice and guidance on childcare proceedings and related work, including the preparation of court processes.

You will be responsible for providing expertise, knowledge, and advice on all matters relating to children’s social care functions, including public law care proceedings, adoption, child protection, and fostering. You will conduct a full range of work types in this area and manage your own complex and varied caseload under the supervision of the Principal Lawyer (Social Care).

Experience
Proven experience handling childcare cases, preferably within a local government context. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and varied caseloads related to children’s social care functions.

Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or equivalent legal qualification. Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
