About the Role
Nomura is a global financial services group with a presence in approximately 30 countries and regions, servicing individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments through Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Wholesale divisions. The Collateral Management group supports OTC Derivative, Structured Repo, and Repo collateral management, focusing on exposure management, collateral efficiency, dispute and fails management, and reconciliations to deliver best-in-class client service.
As part of the Exposure Management team, you will monitor Nomura’s exposure and margin cover requirements across OTC Derivatives, Repo, and Stock Lending. The role involves managing multiple margin functions, overseeing day-to-day collateral processes, supervising the offshore collateral team, and reporting disputes and exposures to senior management, risk, and business stakeholders. You will be accountable for break and dispute ownership and resolution, booking collateral, and optimising outflows based on eligibility criteria. High client service standards are expected, including managing incoming queries and participating in ongoing team projects.
Key objectives critical to success include control and risk mitigation, strong numeracy and attention to detail, effective time management under pressure, client-centric and stakeholder focus, strong communication and escalation skills, collaboration with onshore and offshore teams, and advanced Excel proficiency. Understanding Nomura’s culture and footprint is also important.
Experience
Basic understanding of Finance Operations across multiple asset classes. Knowledge of OTC Derivative and Repo trade lifecycle is beneficial. Experience with collateral management under CSA, GMRA, and GMSLA is an advantage but not essential. Familiarity with the current regulatory framework is desirable.
