About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Hub and Library team in the London Borough of Hounslow as a Community and Library Assistant. You will play a pivotal role in providing access to community hub and library services, community engagement, events and activities, and access to council and partner services.

You will deliver the best visitor experience and act as the first point of contact for the Community Hub and Library. The role requires strong skills in customer service, communication, organisation, children and adult activities, ICT, and cash handling.

The Community Hubs and Libraries offer residents access to information, resources, support, books, activities for children and adults, computers, photocopying, free wi-fi, study spaces, room hire and more. They provide spaces for residents to study and learn, build social connections, and access advice, guidance, and council services.

With over 230,000 items available and approximately 345,000 annual visits, the service is also part of The Libraries Consortium, giving members access to more than 3 million items.

The interview process includes answering five questions, reading a book from the baby or picture book collection, and a strict ordering test. Candidates will have 10 minutes at the start of the interview to choose a book and preview the questions.
