We are seeking a Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our LII Places Sustainability Team. This growing team focuses on embedding sustainability within projects by enhancing clients' sustainability governance and performance across a variety of industries, including buildings and infrastructure.
You will work on diverse projects delivering services such as strategic support, management systems, sustainability statements, chapters, and accreditations including BREEAM, LEED, and WELL. Your expertise will be vital in driving impactful sustainability solutions and addressing complex challenges. There will also be opportunities to develop new service offerings and grow your specialism within this market.

Role Accountabilities
This role involves providing sustainability services to a broad range of public and private sector clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day delivery of sustainability assessments for accreditation schemes such as BREEAM, LEED, and WELL
- Chairing meetings with clients and design teams
- Collecting and reviewing necessary information and evidence for assessments
- Preparing reports for submission to authorising bodies (e.g., BRE, USGBC)
- Advising on anticipated scores and providing regular updates to project teams
- Maintaining monthly tracking schedules
- Conducting Environmental, Sustainability, and Accreditation Gap Analyses
- Supporting technical studies including sustainability and resilience EIA chapters and sustainable masterplanning
- Producing sustainability strategies, statements, and policies
- Providing delivery support to the team and wider Arcadis teams as needed
- Assisting with the development of sustainability thought leadership and enhancing Arcadis’ external profile and client relationships
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sustainability consultancy
- Proven track record delivering accreditation projects from start to finish, successfully achieving certification
- Strong technical and commercial understanding related to sustainability assessments and accreditation schemes
- Experience with BREEAM or other relevant accreditation schemes, including training and licensing
- Confident user of Excel and Power BI
- Experience in thought leadership and client presentations
- Ability to prepare bids and proposals
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in using AI tools while maintaining critical thinking

Qualifications
- Relevant training and license/qualification in accreditation schemes such as BREEAM
- Professional membership such as BREEAM AP is desirable
- Experience with Tracker-Plus and IES TaP is advantageous
- Experience managing complex projects and programmes is beneficial
