We are seeking an exceptional professional committed to supporting students throughout their studies by providing high-quality wellbeing services. This part-time Counsellor role is within our Student Services team and involves delivering counselling primarily on a one-to-one basis through a hybrid model combining in-person and online sessions.

As a professionally qualified counsellor, you will have experience working within the higher education sector and supporting vulnerable students, ideally with an understanding of the specific needs of students undertaking intensive professional training in the performing arts. You will bring a thorough understanding of higher education within legislative, policy and practice frameworks and, working alongside fellow counsellors, represent the Student Services Counselling team on relevant institutional, local and national networks.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role. Accreditation with, or eligibility for accreditation by, an appropriate professional counselling body is essential.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience working as a professional counsellor within the higher education sector, supporting vulnerable students. Experience with students undertaking intensive professional training in the performing arts is highly desirable.

About you
Committed to student wellbeing and able to provide high-quality counselling services through both in-person and online delivery. Able to work collaboratively within a team and represent the counselling service on various networks. Understanding of legislative, policy and practice frameworks relevant to higher education counselling.

Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications
Professional counselling qualification with accreditation or eligibility for accreditation by an appropriate professional counselling body is essential.
