About the Role
As an Eating Disorders Inpatient Occupational Therapist, you will integrate evidence-based practice and specialist assessments with personal recovery principles to improve service users' quality of life. Your role will support individuals to engage in meaningful activities and build healthier, more adaptive lives beyond their illness or mental health challenges. You will work alongside inpatient and day patient Occupational Therapists, providing assessments and both group and one-to-one interventions, with particular responsibility for service users with severe and enduring conditions as well as some recovery-focused patients. You will facilitate recovery-focused groups within the service and community settings, helping service users access valuable community resources such as the CNWL Recovery College and voluntary or mainstream agencies. Collaboration with OT colleagues is essential to ensure smooth and coordinated transitions across the service. Additionally, you will supervise roles such as Activity Co-Ordinator, Peer Support Worker, and Outreach Worker, contributing to a multidisciplinary and supportive environment.
Experience
Experience working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions, particularly eating disorders, is essential. Proven ability to deliver both group and individual occupational therapy interventions within inpatient and community settings is highly desirable.

You are committed to recovery-focused practice and able to work flexibly to meet service needs, including occasional evenings and weekends. You have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to supervise and support other staff members effectively. You are motivated to improve service user outcomes through innovative and evidence-based occupational therapy approaches.
Qualifications
Registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Relevant post-registration experience or specialist training in eating disorders or mental health occupational therapy is advantageous.
