About the Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist within the Mainstream Schools Team, you will provide specialist services to children and young people in mainstream schools who have speech, language, or communication needs. Your responsibilities will include assessment, diagnosis, and delivering therapy packages to allocated schools. You will train and support school staff and parents to implement therapy advice effectively, and assist schools with the early identification of children with speech, language, and communication difficulties. Safeguarding vulnerable children will be a priority at all times. You will also contribute to achieving Key Performance Indicators and maintaining target activity levels, participate in quality governance, audits, and projects, and provide feedback to support service development and improvement.
Experience
Experience working with children and young people with speech, language, or communication needs in educational or clinical settings is desirable.

You will be committed to safeguarding vulnerable children and able to work collaboratively with schools, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and training skills are essential to support and empower school staff and families effectively. You should be motivated to contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and eligible for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
