About the Role
As an Economic Growth Officer at Westminster City Council, you will play a key role in contributing to the success and vibrancy of Westminster. Working closely with Economic Growth Leads and the Head of Economic Growth, you will deliver a range of programmes, projects, and services aimed at fostering economic development. Your initial focus will be on the Inward Investment portfolio, where you will use in-depth research and detailed planning to identify and attract high-growth businesses from priority sectors. You will liaise with internal stakeholders to provide a concierge-style service to high-profile businesses and maintain strong relationships with destination management partners and Business Improvement Districts. Additionally, you will develop creative initiatives to bring investment into Westminster.

Over time, your portfolio may evolve to include areas such as Business Improvement Districts, Enterprise Spaces, High Streets, Business Support, or Meanwhile Activations, supporting the innovative ‘MeanwhileOn: West End’ programme. Experience
Proven experience supporting businesses at various stages of their life cycle, with practical knowledge of project and programme briefings delivered to senior stakeholders. Experience in enterprise spaces, business incubation, accelerators, and workspace projects is highly desirable. Strong understanding of account and contract management is essential.

You possess well-developed knowledge of economic development services, concepts, and practices, and are a collaborative team player who applies critical thinking and research effectively. You can convert strategic objectives into operational plans and coordinate resources to achieve positive outcomes. You remain focused on key priorities and deliverables, demonstrating resilience in a fast-moving environment. Your information gathering and processing skills enable you to analyze problems and identify practical solutions. Confident IT skills and the ability to translate research into concise, meaningful reports are important for success in this role.
