About the Role
As Senior Case Manager, you will make a powerful contribution to Westminster City Council’s Learning Disabilities Team, engaging in fulfilling work with excellent opportunities for learning and career development. You will assist Team Managers in overseeing the Learning Disabilities Social Care Team, supervising Social Workers and Case Managers, and providing guidance on case management. Your role includes applying advanced knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Care Act and the Mental Health Act to support service users with learning disabilities.
You will participate in the duty management rota, allocate work within the team, conduct seasonal conversations, oversee supervisees and their case records, and assist with recruitment and induction processes, supporting the Council’s commitment to valuing diversity. Deputising for Team Managers, you will handle personnel matters including health and safety, disciplinary actions, sickness monitoring, and performance management.
Additional responsibilities include resolving complaints, site management when necessary, developing and reviewing support plans, carrying out assessments, securing resources to meet service user needs, and implementing strategies to promote user involvement. You will also assist students on placement within the team and represent the Westminster Adult Social Care Learning Disability Team at a local level.

Experience
- Social Work qualification (CQSW/Diploma in Social Work) with experience in a case management role within a local authority setting, specifically working with adults with learning disabilities.
- Experience supervising staff or students in a similar or healthcare management setting is preferred.
- Proven track record working in a Duty Team and applying relevant legislation and government guidance to adult social care services.
- Skilled in maintaining accurate service user records and proficient with departmental IT systems and data policies.
- Experience in managing group dynamics and chairing network meetings.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and time management skills to organise workload effectively.
