Salary
£41,818.21 per annum plus £3,000 allowances
Additional 5% of basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend working

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A male prison. The team operates like the heart of a self-contained city, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the facility which impacts prisoners, employees, visitors, families, and the wider community. You will work alongside experienced colleagues including plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all committed to providing a safe and secure environment.

This role offers the opportunity to use your electrical skills to make a positive difference, supporting rehabilitation and promoting positive change. As part of a Ministry of Justice business, you will contribute to critical and time-bound services that help ensure prisons are secure and safe.

Experience
- Minimum two years' experience as an electrician
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations

Qualifications
- Qualified to City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Certificate in BS7671
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge
