About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Belmarsh, a Category A male prison. You will be part of a supportive and driven team working Monday to Sunday to maintain a safe and secure environment. HMP Belmarsh operates like a self-contained city, and the Facilities Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, employees, visitors, families, and the wider community.
As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all committed to making a positive difference. This role offers the opportunity to use your skills to contribute to rehabilitation and positive change.
We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS. Joining us means helping to ensure prisons are secure and safe while playing a part in prisoner reintegration.

Experience
- Minimum two years' experience working as an electrician
- Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
Qualifications
- Qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- 18th Edition Certificate in BS7671
