Engineer Mechanical (Level 3) Feltham
Location
HMP Feltham (TW13), a Category C prison and Young Offenders Institution holding young people from 15 and men up to the age of 30 years old.
Hours
Permanent, 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, including shift work covering weekends.
Salary
£41,818.21 per annum plus 5% shift allowance for weekend work.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance Plumber) to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Feltham. You will work alongside a diverse and passionate team including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. HMP Feltham operates like a self-contained city, and our team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the facility, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
This role offers the opportunity to use your skills to support rehabilitation and positive change within the prison environment. You will be part of a supportive and driven team working shifts Monday to Sunday, contributing to a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

Experience
- Minimum two years' experience working as a plumber or equivalent.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
- Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.

Qualifications
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
