About the Role
Tower Hamlets Council is recruiting two Environmental Health Apprentices to join our dynamic Regulatory Service within the Communities Directorate, Public Protection Integrated Enforcement Division. This is an exciting opportunity to access a fully funded Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Environmental Health with Middlesex University, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). Successful completion will enable you to carry out the full range of duties of an Environmental Health Officer.
As an apprentice, you will work in a diverse community, collaborating with local communities, businesses, the council, and partners to protect public health and improve health outcomes in Tower Hamlets. You will gain experience in health and safety, food safety, environmental protection (noise and pollution), health and housing, and public health.
Our apprenticeship scheme offers excellent training and personal development, combining academic learning with practical work experience. You will be fully supported and mentored throughout, with protected time to attend training and complete coursework. This role is designed for individuals living and entitled to work in England who are not in full-time education.

Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above
- Three additional GCSEs including a science subject
- Two A Levels with a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points, including at least one A Level in a science or technology subject such as Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Nutrition, Food Science, or similar
OR equivalent relevant experience in a local authority service
