About the Role
We’re looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all centre users. In this role, you’ll ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout the building, assist with activity set-ups and set downs, and provide operational support including reception cover when required. You’ll play an important part in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the centre runs smoothly.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll carry out cleaning tasks in line with the centre’s schedule, ensuring both daily duties and periodic deep cleaning are completed to a high standard. You’ll perform health and safety checks and report repairs promptly. You’ll ensure chemicals are used and stored safely in accordance with COSHH regulations and operate cleaning machinery following manufacturer guidelines. Additionally, you’ll assist with setting up and clearing down activities and room hire bookings, provide reception cover during breaks, and always follow Peabody’s health and safety policies.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience in a facilities or customer service role, with knowledge of health and safety regulations.

About you
Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.

Qualifications
Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
