About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering the Corporate accounting for Greystar Europe. You will apply generally accepted accounting principles to analyse financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget and strategic planning, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management. Key responsibilities include managing Corporate Accounting across Europe, ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial reporting with variance analysis commentary, monitoring and reporting operating expenses, and collaborating closely with the FP&A team and business owners during reforecast and Business Plan cycles. You will assist with monthly payroll accounting, prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliation packs, and business partner with budget holders to provide detailed monthly analysis tracking actuals against budget and forecast. Additionally, you will work with the Corporate Finance team to document processes, drive improvements, and automate monthly tasks. The role also involves reviewing and approving weekly supplier payments, managing compliance reporting including VAT submissions and Enhanced Reporting Requirements in Ireland, and assisting with the development and implementation of accounting control procedures. You will ensure customer satisfaction by responding to requests related to financial reports, statements, and budgets, and complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analyses as required. Organisational responsibilities include monitoring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, demonstrating safe behaviours, identifying areas for improvement, and staying current with industry changes through training.
Experience
- Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced multi-jurisdictional business, ideally in the Real Estate sector
- Proven ability to prepare and explain financial data to business leaders, managers, clients, auditors, and other stakeholders
- Experience leading year-end audit processes
- Demonstrated management and supervisory skills to lead, evaluate, and mentor junior team members or peers
- Strong team working and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manipulate and sort large volumes of data in Excel

Qualifications
- ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified accountant
- Good level of general education with strong written and numerical skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- Good understanding of VAT and company structures
- Thorough understanding of accounting procedures and double-entry bookkeeping
- Working knowledge of GAAPs within the Real Estate sector
