About the Role

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver high-quality communal garden maintenance services. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring physical fitness and the ability to work in all weather conditions. If you take pride in outdoor work and enjoy being part of a team, this role is for you.
Key responsibilities include following scheduled routes to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard, operating ride-on mowers, rotary mowers, strimmers, and other landscaping equipment, carrying out grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, and general grounds maintenance. You will also apply weed control treatments, maintain flower beds, shrubs, and planted areas, perform litter picking, sweep pathways, and ensure all sites are clean and presentable. Seasonal maintenance such as planting and shrub care is also part of the role.
Additional duties include maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a safe and clean condition, following all Health & Safety procedures including COSHH and PPE requirements, reporting any site issues or hazards promptly, conducting daily vehicle checks, completing basic risk assessments, ensuring correct use of signage and safety cones on-site, communicating effectively with office and management teams, and supporting accurate reporting of completed works and job updates.
Experience
Previous experience in grounds maintenance is preferred but not essential.
About you
Physically fit and able to carry out manual outdoor work in all weather conditions. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a strong understanding of Health & Safety practices. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be over 21 years old for insurance purposes.
Qualifications
Full UK manual driving licence is essential. Eligible to live and work in the UK.
