About the Role
Join Peabody as a Housing Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of young people aged 16–25, including care leavers. This role is focused on providing practical and emotional support to help young people build life skills, access housing, and gain independence. It is not a care role but involves supporting residents to develop skills such as managing benefits, budgeting, and navigating housing options. You will create a safe, non-judgmental environment where young people feel empowered and respected. Bringing your own passions, whether in music, art, sports, or other interests, will help enrich the community and build meaningful connections. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure tailored support is provided at the right time.

Why Join Us?
At Peabody, you will be part of a team guided by values including Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. We foster a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered. Benefits include up to 25 days’ annual leave, flexible benefits such as healthcare and dental, 4x life assurance, up to 10% pension contribution, funded professional development including apprenticeships, two paid volunteering days annually, and family-friendly policies within a supportive team culture.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working with young people, especially those who have faced trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse is highly valued.
- Transferable experience from youth work, education, housing, or similar sectors is desirable.

About You
- You connect easily with young people and are creative and confident in engaging them through music, sports, art, or other interests.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload and supporting residents with budgeting, benefits, and housing options.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Flexible and reliable with a commitment to working varied shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications
- No specific qualifications are required, but knowledge of safeguarding, support plans, or key working is ideal.
- A positive attitude and a passion for supporting young people on their journey to independence are essential.
