About the Role
Join Peabody as a Housing Support Worker and make a real impact in the lives of vulnerable adults. This fixed term contract runs until August 2026. At Peabody, we are committed to helping vulnerable tenants and individuals live well and independently by providing specialist housing, care, and support to those who are socially excluded, disabled, unwell, or homeless. As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling people to sustain their tenancy and thrive within the community. This rewarding role focuses on empowering individuals to take steps toward stability and independence by offering practical and emotional support—not care. You will help people access housing, manage benefits, and develop essential life skills.
Your responsibilities will include supporting individuals to access and sustain housing, assisting with budgeting, benefits, and tenancy management, creating a safe and respectful environment, encouraging engagement in meaningful activities and community connections, and collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
Experience
- Experience working with vulnerable adults, particularly those with lived experience of homelessness, housing, support work, social care, or related fields is desirable.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently as well as part of a team.
About you
- Able to build trust and rapport with vulnerable adults.
- Confident and creative in engaging people through shared interests or community activities.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and support planning.
- Flexible and committed to working varied shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
