Location
London Borough of Tower Hamlets with regular travel to HMP Isis and other prison and probation sites across the London region. The successful candidate will be appointed to the office/hub closest to their home address from locations including 102 Petty France, 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf, Mitre House, HMP Brixton, HMP High Down, HMP Isis, HMP Pentonville, HMP Wandsworth, and HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic HR partnering to senior leaders within HM Prisons and Probation Service (HMPPS), supporting their mission to protect the public and reduce reoffending.

The Human Resources Business Partner will work within the HR Business Partner (HMPPS) Team, acting as the primary HR contact for Governors and senior leaders in the Prison and Probation Services or National Services. The role involves supporting business change in a complex environment, delivering people priorities, and facilitating access to central HR services. The postholder will use a combination of generalist HR knowledge, personal skills, and experience to advise and partner senior leaders on aligning people and business priorities.

Key responsibilities include supporting change management, resourcing and retention, management and leadership capability, attendance and performance management, employee experience and staff engagement, and inclusion and well-being initiatives. The role requires regular travel across the London region and occasional travel to other HMPPS sites. Business partnering arrangements may change, requiring flexibility to provide cover and support across different business areas.

Experience
- Proven ability to build and manage diverse relationships, including with senior stakeholders.
- Experience delivering HR plans, people management, and supporting staff performance.
- Experience working within an HR team.
- Ability to analyse and apply data and analytics to business delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
