About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, proactive support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse. You will work directly with victims, identifying and assessing risk using recognised tools, developing individual safety plans, and supporting access to appropriate services. You will advocate for victims at multi-agency meetings including MARAC and case conferences, support them through the criminal justice process including court attendance, and collaborate with partner agencies to improve safety for victims and their children. Managing a caseload effectively, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and contributing to service monitoring and development are key responsibilities. The role requires compliance with safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, and information sharing policies. Occasional work outside normal office hours and at different Council sites may be required.

Experience
- Proven experience working directly with victims of domestic abuse or a similar client group.
- Experience of advocacy and supporting vulnerable people through crisis.
- Experience of multi-agency working and partnership problem solving.
About You
You will understand the dynamics and impact of domestic abuse including risk, safeguarding, trauma, and barriers to leaving abusive relationships. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing a caseload, completing risk assessments, maintaining accurate records, and representing victims' needs at multi-agency meetings. Compassion, resilience, and effective communication skills with victims, colleagues, and partner agencies are essential. You will understand the importance of confidentiality, information sharing, data protection, and professional boundaries. The ability to travel across the borough or make suitable transport arrangements is required.
Qualifications
SafeLives IDVA advocacy training is desirable but not essential. A good standard of general education and good IT skills are required. Commitment to supporting victims of domestic abuse is essential.
