About the Role
Positive Change Service – the domestic abuse intervention service within LBTH children’s social care – is seeking a permanent Lead Safety Worker to work with perpetrators of domestic abuse. The service delivers psycho-educational interventions with perpetrators, survivors, and children impacted by domestic abuse. We are a creative, supportive, and motivated team working for systems change alongside personal change to improve the lives of families in Tower Hamlets. The service is part of Children’s Social Care, MASH, and the Assessment & Intervention Service.
The Lead Safety Worker role includes service coordination, direct client work (leading both group and individual work), liaising with referrers and other stakeholders, contributing to the strategic direction of the Positive Change Service, and mentoring students on placements.
Client work typically lasts from 6 months to a year and may involve assessment, groupwork, individual work, and co-parenting work between (ex)-partners. All interventions aim to increase the safety of children and adult survivors of domestic abuse.
We are a self-reflective team providing strong clinical supervision, training, and development opportunities. You will be supported to develop your skills and expected to engage in ongoing learning. The role involves delivering structured and specialist interventions using a broad range of therapeutic approaches and supporting others to do so.

Experience
Substantial experience in delivering domestic abuse interventions and working with parents to promote children’s safety is essential.

You should have the ability to deliver structured psycho-educational interventions and support others in doing so. A strong commitment to improving the safety and wellbeing of children and adult survivors of domestic abuse is required.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications and experience in domestic abuse intervention, social care, or therapeutic work are expected to support your role as Lead Safety Worker.
