About the Role
We are seeking a NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP Wandsworth, a category B adult male prison, as a Mechanical Engineer. HMP Wandsworth operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of people to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, employees, visitors, and the wider community.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from various trades including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators. Together, you will contribute to providing a safe and secure environment.

Experience
- Minimum two years' experience working as a plumber or in an equivalent role
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
- Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements

Qualifications
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge
